This spot is a Berlin legend. Located in Schöneberg's Goltzstraße, Café M boasts a loyal following of freakish twenty-somethings and casually dressed thirty-somethings. Older guests will hark back to the pre-Wall days, when West Berlin represented the last bastion of hedonism before the austere iron curtain cut across the continent. The no-frills interior, containing little more than the bare essentials, has hardly changed in twenty years. But the crucial point is that the beer keeps flowing with abandon. The service is quick and efficient. This is a relaxed option either by day or by night.
