Fasanenstraße is a popular haunt for Berlin's high society - full of exclusive fashion boutiques, art galleries and jeweller's shops. The nearby Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum has nothing to do with the good life, but exhibits portraits of turn-of-the-century proletarian misery. A must for art lovers. Hotel Augusta has comfortable, slightly old-fashioned rooms with stucco ceilings and chandeliers at (upper) mid-range prices. Public transport connections are very good.
