It was Heinz Galinski who brought life back to the Jewish Community Centre in the years preceding reunification. Located on Fasanenstraße in Charlottenburg, the building stands on the site of the synagogue destroyed by the Nazis in the 1930s. Only the portal survived Nazi terror and it is now integrated in the facade of the new building. The Community Centre hosts cultural events and includes a kosher restaurant and a library with 60,000 books. Review © 2009, Wcities
