The renaissance of Jewish life in Berlin |
Auguststraße 77/78 Berlin, Berlin 10117 +49 (0)30 281 3135 |
Located in the old Jewish quarter close to Beth Café and the New Synagoge, Kolbo was one of the first Jewish shops to open in Eastern Berlin after the fall of the Wall. And in a way, it is a sign of the rebirth of Jewish life in Berlin. Kolbo offers a surprising variety of typical Jewish goods ranging from kosher food and Israeli wine to books, bar mitzvah greetings cards and traditional Jewish head caps. A couple of wicker chairs stand in the corner and are the perfect place to relax and enjoy a kosher ice-cream or a fresh bagel with cream cheese. Review © 2009, Wcities |
