The nomads never wandered as far afield as Berlin, but their beautiful handicrafts did: wonderful carpets from the Balkans and Central Asia, antique jewellery, statues and magnificent wooden masks. The latter were collected by keen Belgian and Dutch missionaries, mainly in West Africa, before they were brought to Berlin.
