The elegant Greek name and bright yellow sign which hangs outside the shop promise much, yet inside Philographos you'll find little more than an ordinary stationery shop. The selection is, however, truly excellent. Artists can buy brushes and tubes of paint, students from the nearby Technical University will find files and organisers to help them through their studies and office workers can stock up on all types of office equipment located on the first floor. And if you don't have time to come here, over 12,000 items can be purchased online. But then you would be missing out on the chance to pop into two of Berlin's best bookshops - Kiepert and Romanische Buchhandlung - which are just around the corner. Review © 2009, Wcities |
