In 1929, Photo Porst claimed to be the largest photo shop in the world. While this may not be true any more, Photo Porst, with over 2,100 franchises in Germany, is still the country's largest and best-known photo shop. It all began with a catalogue containing tips for amateur photographers and which became a kind of photographers' bible.
