Organic produce—grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or artificial preservatives—is becoming increasingly popular. When Rebgarten started importing organic wine in 1985, however, it was the first company in the region to do so. While dozens of similar establishments have opened in the intervening years, Rebgarten is still the number one. Rebgarten is actually a wholesaler which sells its goods to retailers and restaurants, yet it also has a store which is open to the general public. There is only one disadvantage: individual clients generally don't get the opportunity to taste the wine before buying.
