Stacked high behind the counter is a pile of plastic, seventies-style holdalls which appear to sell like hotcakes. Occasionally, the whole pile collapses over the counter. This seems to sum up the cheerful chaos which rules over this establishment, located in a former squat in Prenzlauer Berg. An Alladin's cave full of retro gear from the fifties, sixties and seventies, Red Star is a great place to spend a while rummaging—and with any luck, you'll find something wierd and wonderful which no one else in the city is likely to be wearing. The shop also sells T-shirts bearing its own label.
