Berlin is brimming with cheap Italian eateries serving up standard fare like pizza calzone and spaghetti bolognese. But the only thing that Sale e Tabacchi has in common with these establishments is its Italian heritage. Situated near Checkpoint Charlie, this place oozes style. Its spacious rooms are furnished with dark wooden panels, leather-upholstered chairs and tables with pristine white tablecloths. Waiters in bow ties and equally pristine white shirts serve up some of the most creative Italian dishes this side of Rome. Prices range from EUR8 for starters to EUR22 for a main course.
