Doughnuts are traditionally eaten at New Years and this cross-country race has thus become known as the 'Doughnut Race.' Held on 31st December every year, it is also regarded by many as the best preparation for the hard night's drinking which lays ahead. Regardless of the weather, hundreds of Berliners take part in the race through Grunewald forest and over Teufelsberg mountain. There are several different courses which range in length from 2 kilometers to 15 kilometers. Review © 2009, Wcities |
