This establishment was originally a club house for craftsmen, and was later used as a theatre workshop during GDR times. In recent times it has been rebuilt and carefully renovated into a contemporary dance theatre. It was reopened in 1996 with what turned out to be a box office hit by the new choreographer Sasha Waltz and has since made its mark on the world of theatre as a modern and innovative establishment.
