Spandau forest is located between Berlin and Potsdam, just north of the Spandau suburbs. Over 1,000 hectares in size, the forest contains several children's playgrounds, picnic areas and a number of nature reserves which are full of interesting flora and fauna. Of all Berlin's forests, Spandau has the largest number of animal species, including 75 per cent of all Berlin's bird life.
