Spätkauf is a pleasant late-night shop with a bright and colourful shop floor. A suburban corner shop with charm, this store opens only in the evenings and stays open till midnight. A rarity in the world of commerce, for although Berlin has no curfew, there are strict rules imposed by the state that restrict trading hours. The few late-night shops in Berlin have a dreary atmosphere; old bread, soap, long-life milk and, above all beer, beer and more beer.
