In the beginning of the 19th Century, King Friedrich Wilhelm III ordered the construction of several churches near Wedding and the Rosenthaler Tor. The work was completely funded by the king, and so each church was made to his detailed specifications. The St. Elisabeth church stands out among its smaller neighbors, and is a major draw in itself for its stunning interior and detailed architecture. The excellent acoustics of the Villa Elisabeth hall have made it a popular concert venue for a range of events. Review © 2009, Wcities |
