Alte Schönhauser Straße 30 Berlin, Berlin 10119 +49 (0)30 4201 5785 |
Berlin begins the millennium leaping back in time. While the new capital outwardly becomes more and more futuristic, places like Tenderloin celebrate the trends of times gone by - which are now more fashionable than ever. Situated close to Hackesche Höfe, Tenderloin is a haven for sixties revivalists. A forest of outdated lamps dangle from the ceiling and dozens of multi-coloured plastic television sets, chairs and tables fight for space on the floor. The clothing section offers a selection of wacky second-hand sixties gear as well as modern-day revivalist Spanish labels such as Inexplicable and No Mad. And it's probably best not to even mention the large collection of wigs... Review © 2009, Wcities |
