Werk-Kunst-Etage is a real insider tip. Housed in the attic of an otherwise unremarkable turn-of-the-century building in the district of Schöneberg, this establishment serves as a workshop and sales outlet for three of Berlin's most creative craftspeople: Evelyn Klam designs beautiful ceramics, coffee and tea services, vases and bowls in the most tender colours of the rainbow, sparkling like mother-of-pearl; Julia Büttelmann works wonders with paper - greetings cards, fashion accessories and furniture, all made of paper or cardboard; Michael O'Meara makes furniture (tables, chairs, cupboards, chests of drawers) in clear shapes and with a certain Asian touch. A great place to come and browse, although it is unlikely you will leave empty-handed. Review © 2009, Wcities |
