It all began 15 years ago when Yellowgelb began selling robust boots to the punks, squatters and students who called Kreuzberg their home. The shop still sells boots in all shapes and sizes, but the selection now includes lighter, more sporty and more colourful footwear. The clientele ranges from old grannies to teenage rappers, from well-known regulars to tourists just passing by. Yellowgelb offers its own inexpensive brand of footwear as well as well as popular makes such as Fly, Converse, Gola, and Nose. But there's more to this shop than just shoes - like the wacky selection of original seventies sunglasses and a second-hand clothes section in the backroom. Review © 2009, Wcities |
