Am Zwirngraben Berlin, Berlin 10178 +49 (0)30 2472 1212 |
Located in a hall under the S-Bahn tracks, Zucca is a recent addition to Berlin's bar scene. A pleasant combination of coffee house by day and cocktail bar by night, service here follows Italian principles: fast, friendly and trendy. The centre point of Zucca is without doubt the horseshoe-shaped bar. There is a vast array of beer, wine, long drinks and cocktails on offer. The menu includes breakfast, which for the benefit of all those not-so-early birds, is served until 4pm, as well as pasta and other snacks. Sitting in this airy, spacious room with marvellous, colourful frescos, you can also admire the colourful crowd which patronise the bar. Silent black and white movies are occasionally shown on a screen in the corner. The menu is small but carefully chosen, the food exquisite and original. The mixed antipasti platter is delicious. There is a daily set-meal, with choices including mushroom cream soup as a starter, followed by pappardelle with fillet of lamb and vegetables and TiramisĂș for dessert. Review © 2009, Wcities |
