The Sugar Museum in Wedding is the world's oldest museum devoted to the sweet, sticky substance. The museum is divided into 11 sections in which the visitor can learn all about the cultivation of sugar beet and sugar cane, as well as the production and processing of sugar and other by-products. In times gone by, for example, sugar was so expensive that it was only sold by chemists. The museum also contains a collection of over 1,800 sugar pots, as well as stamps and old sugar advertisements. Review © 2009, Wcities |
