International circus until September |
Parque de Etxebarría Bilbao 48006 Spain |
In August, Semana Grande (Big Week Festival) is celebrated in Bilbao. It is a time of entertainment and fun for all, when the Gran Circo Mundial, circus, comes to the Parque de Etxbarria to entertain you with its acts and parades along the Gran Via and the Arenal at fiesta time. This circus has been coming to Bilbao for many years, and a lot of people have seen the newborn lions being baptized, the displays of albino tigers and other animals, and of course acrobats, trapeze artists or clowns who delight children and adults alike. The Bilbao City Council's education, youth and sports department always has something to offer young people, and organises Christmas activities for children during the winter break. This initiative aims to keep young people occupied with different activities, such as films, clown shows in the Bilborock-La Merced theatre, or the Circo de los Muchachos circus, in la Casilla. Admission for these activities is very reasonable. Review © 2007, Wcities |

One of the Feria Internacional de Muestras (International Trade Centre) pavilions is turned into a children's Christmas funfair during December. Every year there are all the usual stalls plus new attractions to entertain the youngsters, like 3D films, video games, virtual reality machines and Internet access. Children can learn as well as play by signing on for basic first aid courses and learning how to ride a scooter on simulated urban roads. Review © 2007, Wcities |
