Commercial variety |
Bilbao, Vizcaya 48005 |
This district is an atmospheric area of narrow winding streets, little squares and individual neighbourhoods full of activity every day of the year. This is the heart of the town that dates back to 1300 and its historical and cultural importance was recognized in statute in 1972. After the disastrous floods in 1983 much of the district was rebuilt and improved. It's worth visiting Plaza Nueva, Plaza Miguel de Unamuno and Santiago Cathedral in particular.
