"The Bilbao Youth Hostel opened its doors as a lodging for visitors to the city with modest means. Situated 5 minutes from the city centre, it occupies an area of 22,000 square metres surrounded by gardens and green open spaces. Built with the best amenities, the visitor can enjoy a very pleasant stay in the company of other, mainly young, travellers. A youth hostel card costing 1,000 pesetas (EUR 6.01) per year is required and is available there. 142 beds are available, divided into rooms of 1, 2, 3, 4 and up to 6 beds. The Arriaga Hotel is situated in the centre of Bilbao, in the old quarter next to the Bilbao Estuary. Near to both the city's commercial centre and the business and financial centre, the Arriaga is just a short walk from the city's bars and pubs, as well as the Arriaga Theatre. The Gurea hostal is a classic among the lodging houses of the city centre. Situated in the calle Bidebarrieta, one of the main shopping streets in the Old Quarter, it is opposite the Arriaga theatre and very near the capital's financial area. Its central location allows guests to effortlessly visit the whole of the city and its surrounding areas, while sleeping for a highly reasonable price in one of the Gurea's beds. There is a warm family atmosphere here. It is possible to choose your room, single or double, with full bathroom or just shower and wash basin, with a price difference of around 700 pesetas (EUR 4.20) depending on the choice.
