Nuffield Hospitals run a total of 40 institutions in the UK. These hospitals are not part of the free National Health Service but instead are fee-paying. It is not necessary to have private medical insurance to be treated here, however. The Birmingham Nuffield Hospital opened in the mid-1960s and was extended in the 80s. It is in a pleasant, leafy part of the suburb of Edgbaston, and offers a high standard of medical care. A wide variety of conditions are treated here; consult the informative web site for full details. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The Birmingham Women's Hospital was created in 1995, when various specialist departments around the city were transferred to this single site. This National Health Service hospital was formerly known as the Birmingham Maternity Hospital, and the new name reflects the greater variety of services offered to female patients. These services include gynaecology, maternity, oncology, physiotherapy and antenatal clinics to name but a few. Review © 2007, Wcities |
