Here is a fashion store that begins with the premiss that its prime customer will be a well-dressed woman of 25 upwards. You can start by buying a capsule wardrobe and build it up from there. "Bridging" is the key word meaning to bridge the age gap with timeless updated classics with a twist, and bridging the price gap as well. Shop here for casuals and business wear, including KS, Marella, Falke (tights) and Gerard Darel. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fresh meat, drink and veg |
New Street Birmingham B2 4JH United Kingdom +44 121 643 2514 |
A fairly recent addition to the market scene in Birmingham, the Farmers' Market is held along the top end of New Street on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. It is exceedingly popular, and the array of fresh food is positively beguiling. You can buy organic meats, vegetables, cheeses and wines, and scoff yourself silly on ostrich burgers while you do so. Prices are highly competitive and the quality far better than anything you'll find in the nearby food halls and stores. Review © 2007, Wcities |

20 Fort Parkway Birmingham B24 9FP United Kingdom +44 121 386 4442 |
The Fort is a new and smart looking shopping complex on the eastern outskirts of the city, adjacent to the M6. It is so-called because it's near the site of the old Fort Dunlop factory. Many high street names are represented, including Boots, Next and W. H. Smith. The new entertainment development at StarCity is nearby, offering a more relaxing way to spend your cash after hours trailing round the shops. To get there, exit the motorway at Junction 5 and follow the signs. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Huge shopping complex |
Brierley Hill, Dudley Birmingham DY5 1QX United Kingdom +44 1384 484 141 http://www.merryhill.co.uk |
Not strictly in Birmingham, this enormous shopping complex is close enough to the city to make it easily accessible for all, and buses run regularly from the center of town. Hundreds of stores are represented, mainly high street retailers like Next, Monsoon, Dixons, Waterstones, W H Smiths and The Disney Store. There are plenty of eating places too, like the ubiquitous McDonalds and Pizza Hut, and it gets as busy as you'd expect. Good car parking though. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A shopping centre that promises "stress free and convenient" shopping may seem too good to be true, but that is the proud boast of the Pallasades. It's fairly large, with a healthy smattering of well-known stores like Austin Reed, Woolworths, Holland & Barrett, as well as numerous cheapish clothes shops. There's a good selection of cafes and fast food outlets, and all is clean and well maintained generally. Review © 2007, Wcities |
