Brick walls and painted arches greet diners as they enter this Boise favorite, located at the historic Eighth Street Marketplace. Opening its doors in 1981, the restaurant brings a little taste of Mexico to Idaho. Diners can munch on Nachitos or Mini Taquitos while waiting for their main course, or try the Chicken Tropicana Salad. Entrees include crispy Chicken Flautas and Camarones Rancheros, grilled shrimp with a homemade sauce. The Arroz Con Pollo En Crema, chicken covered with a jalisco-based cream sauce, highlights the specialties. The restaurant also serves a variety of margaritas and beers.

The sign is flashy. There are brightly colored food items, and the selection is overwhelming. But this eatery, located in the Boise Towne Square Mall, pleases everyone. Low-key and casual, the 10 restaurants represented here are perfect for large groups that can't agree on a single restaurant. Under one roof, diners will find Mario's Pizza, Kelly's Cajun Grill, Edo-Japan, Great Steak and Potato Co., Courtside Deli, Panda Express and a variety of chain restaurants. After filling up, browse through Idaho's largest mall.

Lunch offerings range from chicken burritos to quesadillas. Dinners bring more originality with Pescado Jalapeno, served with red snapper. Tex-Mex dinner choices include tostadas, chile rellenos, and a variety of tacos, including steak. All meals come with chips, salsa, and bean dip. Although the staff is friendly and professional, this is a popular restaurant so expect a wait on weekends.
