This bicycle-decorated coffee house offers something the others don't: waffles, and lots of them. Diners select from six different waffles with toppings ranging from hot applesauce to peanut butter. The owner, a former racer and bicycle mechanic, knows how to brew a strong cup of coffee in a variety of flavors.

China One International Buffet

Never leave hungry
5181 Glenwood Street
Boise, ID 83714
United States
Featuring an endless supply of food, this buffet-style restaurant fills you up on Egg Rolls, Dumplings, Hunan Beef, Roast Pork Lo Mein and other Chinese specialties. What the large and modern restaurant, located across the street from the Western Idaho Fair, lacks in original decor, it makes up for by offering a variety of dishes. When one item gets low, new dishes are quickly put in its place. There are even items for die-hard American food lovers, such as ribs and pizza. With banquet facilities for up to 300 people, the restaurant also features a Mongolian barbecue.

For a small escape from downtown's hustle-and-bustle, visit this fun spot. Swallow some succulent steamers from the East Coast, chew on a finger steak and grab your favorite drink. If you get bored, try your luck at the horseshoe pits in the beer garden, football, pool, arcade games or darts. Want some good beer? It's here. Don't miss out on this place.

Merritt's Country Cafe

Scone city
6630 West State Street
Boise, ID 83703
United States
+1 208 853 9982
Little has changed at this side-of-the-road cafe, and, one thing is for sure, its famous scones have not either. Your typical sandwiches, soups and salads are consumed here, but, if you would like to unleash the sugar-tooth fairy, try a scone - powdered-sugar, fruit and honey are several of the options. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this restaurant never closes. Leave the cell phone and laptop at home, but bring plenty of quarters for the jukebox.

Roque's

Tex-Mex winner
2870 West State Street
Boise, ID 83702
United States
+1 208 343 7211
Warmly decorated with rich Southwestern colors, this small downtown restaurant serves up generous helpings of Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Lunch offerings range from chicken burritos to quesadillas. Dinners bring more originality with Pescado Jalapeno, served with red snapper. Tex-Mex dinner choices include tostadas, chile rellenos, and a variety of tacos, including steak. All meals come with chips, salsa, and bean dip. Although the staff is friendly and professional, this is a popular restaurant so expect a wait on weekends.
