With its roots in College Station, Texas, home of Texas A&M University, this small eatery adds a Texas-twist to lunch vittles. Offering submarine sandwiches, burgers, salads and croissant sandwiches, the utilitarian eatery makes up for its lack of decor in generous helpings. Specialty sandwiches include the Grilled Ham, and Turkey and Roast Beef Croissant. A side order of fries is a meal on its own, and ice cream creations are the perfect to end to your meal.

Owner Peter Schott has developed his newest restaurant with the sports aficionado in mind. Soaring ceilings and outdoor seating give the sports pub a touch of elegance.Diners select from hearty sandwiches like the Toronto Chicken crammed with bacon, onions, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Pizza is also popular with original touches like cilantro and Fontina cheese. Guests should save room for one of the huge desserts, such as the Giant Nut-filled Brownie or homemade milkshakes.

A lunch hotspot for decades, the deli serves up hot, cold and pita sandwiches and hamburgers, along with a large selection of desserts and salads. The food is served with time in mind, although the flavor beats any fast-food joint. The eatery is located just a few miles south of downtown. If you're looking for romance, you won't find it here, except with the food.
