This is a summer event (from July-Sept) among the thousands of locations in the city, the 'Bologna Sogna-Open Festival' takes place inside palaces, courtyards, piazzas, parks and historical sites, with theatrical shows, concerts, performances, guided tours of museums and exhibitions. A panoramic tour that lasts around two hours, on a 16-seater minibus, accompanied by a tourist guide. You will see Neptune's fountain, Piazza Maggiore, The Two Towers, Palazzo della Mercanzia, the Seven Churches, St Dominic's church, St Michael in the Woods, St Luke's and the Piazza Malpighi. The tour takes place on W, Th, Sa and Su at 10a and 3p, leaving from via Indipendenza, by the steps leading to the Pincio. There are further stops on the same road to pick up passengers at the Hotel Baglioni and Piazza Enzo. You can book at Cosepuri Divisione Bus, +39 051 51 7070, before 6p on the day preceding the tour, or until midday on Sa. Located in the heart of Bologna, inside the ancient walls that delineate the historical center, the Land Rover arena is home to Bologna's basketball ball team, and also hosts other major events. Formerly known as PalaDozza and nicknamed "il madison" after Madison Square Gardens, it features four huge, state of the art screens hanging from the center of the ceiling, and can seat 5,700 people. There are also five multifunction rooms, cafè, merchandise shop, travel agency, sports medicine clinic, and more.
