Supposedly, Bell in Hand got its name from its original owner- the Town Crier. Established in 1795, it has the distinction of being the oldest continuously-operating tavern in America and served the likes of Daniel Webster and Paul Revere, though the original building no longer stands. Bell in Hand is a full-service restaurant with a menu that reflects melting-pot American cuisine. Options include Spicy Fried Calamari and Coconut Shrimp, as well as favorite American standbys like steak, burgers, and pizza. With live music, karaoke, and five bars on its two floors, you're likely to see more than a bell in someone's hand at any given moment. -Theresa Ludwick Review © 2009, Wcities |
