The French Library and Cultural Center makes its home in two historic mansions in the Back Bay. Although it offers paid memberships, others are welcome to visit its extensive library for free. The center offers many other reasons for tourists to stop in. It hosts a number of free art exhibits and concerts and has an interesting mix of programs, including lectures, wine tastings and cooking demonstrations, generally for a fee.
