A young crowd packs this bar near Faneuil Hall every weekend. The Purple Shamrock features live music every night and there is generally a cover charge in the $5 range on Thursday through Saturday. The food here is quite good; the menu includes a wide range of soups and salads and steak and seafood entrees. Meatloaf, Shepherd's Pie and Chicken Pot Pie are listed among the Shamrock's specialty dishes as is Bangers and Mash, which is Irish sausages with mashed potatoes and Boston baked beans.
