Hot Irish nightclub |
934 Dorchester Avenue Boston, MA 02125 United States +1 617 436 9747 |
This bar is a rising star in the Irish-American club community. Euro-style rave music rocks the first floor. The second floor (furnished with overstuffed couches and painted in bright colors) is a bit quieter. Live football matches are televised from Ireland and the U.K. on weekends. The menu is what you would expect of an Irish restaurant - fish and chips, anyone? Review © 2007, Wcities |

Slices of Temptation |

Golden loaves of freshly baked raisin-pecan bread, glowing in this cute little shop, exuding a warm, sweet aroma, are too delicious to resist. The delectable breads can be had as an accompaniment with food or they can simply be savored on their own as the base of a sandwich or with some butter and jam. A mouth-watering selection of pastries is available, including twice-baked croissants, stuffed with almond paste and dusted ever so gently with sugar. Before dessert, you can even opt for a fully loaded sandwich. Review © 2007, Wcities |

You guessed right, the Grafton Street Pub & Grill gets its name from the famous shopping district in the Temple Bar Area of Dublin. It's not just the name, the 5000 square foot space, done up in hues of cream, beige and brown also gives the feel of a classic Irish pub. Executive Chef Dan Pogue dishes out some contemporary American fare in this Irish setting. Apart from fresh seafood and interesting appetizers, they also serve burgers, pizzas and the like. So go ahead and enjoy your evening with your loved ones, there is something to suit everyone's tastes. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Vegan Baked Goods |
12, Dade Street Dudley Square Boston, MA 2119 United States +1 617 445 0900 http://www.haleyhouse.org/cafe... |
Haley House makes the best vegan—and very good non-vegan—baked goods in Boston. You've probably tasted their non-vegan bakery around the city: Tosconini's, City Feed, 1369, and Diesel Café all buy from Haley House. It's even better straight from the source, and you're supporting a great organization as well as eating great muffins and scones. Try the organic stoneground grits some morning you're missing the magnolias. Their jerk chicken grilled cheese, served with apple chutney, may be the best grilled cheese sandwich in Boston. And the terribly fresh, often organic and local produce comes from the Food Project and Noonday Farm. Another plus: fair trade coffee and cocoa. -Stephanie Bostic Review © 2007, Wcities |

Down home breakfast and lunch |
103 Terrace Street Boston, MA 02120 United States +1 617 541 4411 / +1 617 566 6789 http://www.mississippis.com/ |
For a quality, yet inexpensive breakfast, head to Mississippi's in Roxbury. The restaurant has a contemporary and chic look with high ceilings and stainless steel trim. But the food is good, old fashioned fare with large servings of the order of the day. The restaurant serves up all kids of eggs and home fries, bacon, kielbassa sausage, corned beef hash, grits and French toast. The omelets are huge and stuffed full of good things. Cash only.
