Artillery display |
Quincy Market 4th Floor, Faneuil Hall Boston, MA 02109 United States +1 617 227 1638 http://www.ahacsite.org/headqu... |
Stroll through the fourth floor of Faneuil Hall to find this hidden piece of history. Founded in the 1800s, this museum-cum-library-cum-armory has military memorabilia and some of the oldest military artifacts in America. On the walls and enclosed in glass cases are antique weapons and faded uniforms. Also on display here are flags, military books and a wealth of paintings. This is an interesting place to stop and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Admission is free. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Concord Museum is an ideal first stop on a tour of the historic city. Home of the American Revolution's first battle and many literary greats, Concord offers a wealth of American history, all of which is displayed at the Museum. Artifacts from the revolution, such as the "one if by land, two if by sea" lantern are located here (you can buy your own reproduction in the museum gift shop), and special exhibits change throughout the year. There are more than 100 places to eat, shop and drink at this historic site. French merchant Peter Faneuil (pronounced FAN-you-wull) gave the hall that precedes the marketplace to his adopted home of Boston in 1742. It has been called the "Cradle of Liberty" because of the number of revolutionaries and abolitionists who delivered important speeches here. The hall is now a tourist center, but public meeting facilities are still available. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tourist information |
Statiestraat 21 Suite 105 Boston, MA 2018 United States +1 617 536 4100 http://www.bostonusa.com annmarie@bostonusa.com |
The local tourist bureau provides extensive information on lodging and areas of interest to visitors by mail, on-line, or through the "Boston By Phone" service. The latter is useful in connecting directly to businesses. Since many Boston hotels are often full during the summer, the bureau can help direct tourists to available lodging. Services are also available for meeting planners, tour leaders and the media. Review © 2007, Wcities |
