Tea with culture

United States
+1 303 442 4993

Boulder's sister city Dushanbe, Tajikistan, donated this ornate building to the City of Boulder more than decade ago. Builders imported and erected more than 30 tons of material to build the structure, which was finished in 1988. It quickly assumed a prominent role in Boulder history. Now a popular gathering place among locals, this cultural spot serves an array of exotic cuisine (Burmese Coconut Curry and Tajik Plov for example) and fine teas in rooms boasting bright designs and colorful African artifacts.

This adorable café, bedecked in a menagerie of colors, sits one block east of the Pearl Street Mall. Its lively atmosphere and cluttered tables promote conversation. Foundry Café and Billiards Club

Bar with multiple personalities
1109 Walnut Street
(at 11th Street)
Boulder, CO 80304
United States
+1 303 447 1803
Mixing multiple trends under one roof makes for an interesting crowd at the Foundry. Part coffeehouse/café, part upscale pool hall, part nightclub, part cigar/scotch bar, the place has a number of identities that attracts everyone. Twelve regulation mahogany pool tables, rented by the hour, satisfy the town's love of billiards. The upstairs is the place to get intimate, although live music occasionally drowns out all conversation. The café serves pastries with a wide selection of designer coffees, as well as gourmet sandwiches and a menu of basic bar fare. Head up to the roof deck to enjoy a warm summer afternoon with killer views.

Fox Theatre and Cafe

Music central
1135 13th Street
Boulder, CO 80302
United States
+1 303 447 0095
http://www.foxtheater.com
Describing Boulder's music scene requires two words: Fox Theatre. The intimate hall, located on The Hill, feels more like a gathering place, rather than a concert hall. It has the same feel of drinking beer in your friend's big garage, except that this place holds over 400 people, has precise acoustics, and draws some of the biggest names in music. Bands like 311 and Counting Crows, who easily sell out larger venues in Denver, always opt to stop by the Fox, drawn by the wild fans and the small town ambiance.
