Authentic Italian delicacies |
1308 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302 United States +1 303 442 0378 |
This casual restaurant on the Pearl Street Mall treats patrons to the authentic sites, sounds and foods of Italy. The menu is even in Italian. The exposed brick and fading fresco mirrors that of an Italian piazza. A working fountain adorns the center of the dining room, and flowers and lush foliage hang from the overhead balcony. The menu offers a wealth of seafood options including the Frutti Di Mare, which is linguine topped with shrimp and bay scallops. Steaks and vegetarian dishes are also offered. Excellent Patios |

This restaurant offers an authentic Italian dining experience (complete with the traditionally unhurried service). The low-lit dining room exudes luxury, with designer chairs and antiques. But during the warm months, you will find most people outside. The menu offers a wealth of inventive Mediterranean dishes, along with other Northern Italian creations. The mussels with clams and shrimp are a popular starter. The grilled salmon, served atop a bed of saffron potatoes, highlights the menu. You can also choose from veal, chicken and beef selections. Wonderfully priced Italian |
1738 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302 United States +1 303 443 5015 http://www.cafegondolier.com/ |
Located in the space once occupied by the old Harvest Restaurant, just down the block from the Pearl Street Mall, this gem of a restaurant is like wandering around only to find Bruce Wayne's Bat Cave. It is worth finding, however, for it offers great Italian fare at great prices. Bright flags hanging from the high ceiling cast an Italian Alps type feel to the room. The ambiance is both urban and casual. Pizza is the main draw and features odd topping choices such as shrimp, artichokes and chopped clams. Specialty items include Chicken Fettuccini and Stuffed Shells. All of the pasta is homemade. The outdoor patio is the place to be during warm weather. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Pizza with attitude |
1647 Arapahoe Avenue Boulder, CO 80302 United States +1 303 443 6300 http://www.jalinospizza.com |
This hole-in-the-wall pizzeria across from Boulder High School is a favorite among patrons of all ages. The pizza here won the Best of Boulder in 1998, and offers over 30 toppings and eight different cheeses. Subs, calzones, pastas, lasagna and salads round out the menu. The small, green building has minimal seating. So take-out is your best bet. East Coast travelers missing a little New York attitude with their service will feel right at home. Come summer and lots of salads are tossed up with fresh and organic ingredients. While Footlamb Cassoulet is the winter favorite, Sea scallops with Pea Puree is the spring delight! Enjoy a wholesome breakfast here as you peruse the morning newspaper. Review © 2007, Wcities |

More Italian than Italy |
2785 Iris Avenue Boulder, CO 80304 United States +1 303 442 1300 http://www.laudisio.com |
Just the mere fact that this restaurant is not a chain is reason alone to try its menu. Everything about this family owned, authentic Italian bistro, from the service to the food, exudes style and grace. The entrees, all of which emphasize natural ingredients, feature true Italian dishes like Beffsteak Fiorentina and Risotto di Mare. Nightly specials change daily. A true experience is tasting some of the estate-bottled olive oils, which are available for purchase. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Colorful, upscale dining |
1002 Walnut Street, Suite 101B Boulder, CO 80302 United States +1 303 444 5335 |
This lively restaurant has all of the charm of a tiny European coastal café. Sunny paintings and brilliant colors bedeck the walls. Lush foliage grows everywhere, and an imported Italian wood burning stove glows in the background. Known for its flavorful tapas, the menu celebrates the succulent entrees of Italy, Spain, Greece and France. The wood-oven-baked pizzas are popular, as is the Eggplant Parmigiana. For dinner, the family style Paella de Mariso is divine. Order a dessert if just to observe the masterful designs created by the pastry chef. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Skiers' pit stop |
1 West First Street Boulder, CO 80466 United States +1 303 258 7313 |
Affectionately known as Neo's, this pizzeria and Italian restaurant is a favorite among skiers driving home from Eldora. Huge family-style portions are big enough to share and include tasty selections of calzones and lasagna. But you cannot leave without tasting the fabulous pizza. An extensive beer and wine list will accommodate most tastes and price ranges. The tables are close together, and the service can be slow on busy evenings, but this does not deter the faithful customers of this long-time Nederland establishment. Review © 2007, Wcities |
