Fresh produce, Colorado specialties |
13th Street between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue Boulder, CO 80302 United States +1 303 910 2236 http://www.boulderfarmers.org/ |
Twice a week local farmers from the surrounding area set up shop on the streets of downtown and offer loads of fresh produce, eggs, honey and other delicacies too good to pass up. On occasion Colorado wine, fresh roasted green chilies and tempting breads are also for sale. Bring an empty stomach and a full wallet, and spend the afternoon browsing and bartering, or enjoy a picnic in the park behind the market. In the fall, ripe Colorado peaches are an especially succulent treat. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Canyon waterfalls |
Canyon Blvd Boulder, CO 80302 United States |
Fed by mountain snow melt from North Boulder Creek this cascading chute of white water is a true spectacle. Located in a shaded canyon, just minutes west of Boulder, it provides a nice haven from the heat during the height of summer. However, be forewarned that the spot can get crowded. From the intersection of Canyon Boulevard and Ninth Street follow Canyon west for 7.2 miles. The falls are on the right. The site is heavily marked, and there is plenty of parking. Driving through the area you cannot help but notice mining's manifestations on the surrounding landscape. The Lafayette Miners Museum celebrates the mining tradition in a restored coal mining cabin. Dating back to the 1890s, the six room cabin, run by the Louisville Historical Society, features period clothing and furniture, along with various mining tools of the day. Review © 2007, Wcities |
