Rodeo influenced fair |
9595 Nelson Road Affolter House Boulder, CO 80501 United States +1 303 772 7170 http://www.bouldercountyfair.org |
When compared with other county fairs, Boulder's is different in that it offers a heavy lean towards rodeo activities. The eight-day event is spectator friendly and offers rodeo competitions for all age groups, a curious ballet on horseback, a christian cowboy concert, truck and tractor pulls, pig races, draft horse shows, a salsa contest and even a 'this-is-certainly-different' scarecrow display. The fair opens with a parade through Longmont. See website for schedule and complete yearly particulars. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Three-day family oriented festival |
9th Street to 14th Street (East to West) Canyon Boulevard & Arapahoe Avenue (North and South) Boulder, CO 80306 United States +1 303 652 4942 http://www.bouldercreekfestiva... |
What began in 1988 as a small gathering of local volunteers who intended to clean debris from Boulder Creek, has spawned into a three-day festival that attracts upwards to 150,000 people. However, cleaning is no longer the focus. Today the festival is a family oriented celebration of Boulder's diversity. Various displays like the Art Show, the Marketplace, and the International showcase local talent with handmade crafts and live performances. For the kids, there are amusement rides and a children's fishing derby. The now famous Rubber Duck Race down Boulder Creek culminates the festival. Admission is free. See their website for further details. Review © 2007, Wcities |

World-class acting and atmosphere |
277, University of Colorado in Boulder Boulder, CO 80309-0277 United States +1 303 492 0554 http://www.coloradoshakes.org/ |
This yearly event draws a worldly crowd. It is widely recognized as one of the country's most renowned Shakespearean festivals. Since 1958 a mix of top-notch local, international and celebrity performers have entertained audiences with the Bard's work. Many of the shows take place outside under the stars, at the intimate Mary Rippon Theater where audiences of up to 900 sit on stadium seats atop rustic stone benches. The performances typically run from mid-June through mid-August. Advance ticket purchase is necessary, as many shows sell out. Review © 2007, Wcities |
