Aumthong Thai

Terrific Thai
60 Western Rd
Hove
Brighton, East Sussex BN3 1JD
United Kingdom
+44 1273 77 3922
http://www.aumthong.com
Aumthong Thai has been established for some years and can be spotted by its eye catching bright blue exterior. Try mixed seafood, deep fried in batter with sweet chilli sauce for a real treat. Starters vary in price and begin at around £3.95 with main dishes ranging from £5-£20. These include seafood, meat dishes, noodles and curries. End your meal with one of the tempting desserts... that is if you have room left for one.

Bali Brasserie

Truly kitsch
Kingsway Court
First Avenue
Brighton, East Sussex BN3 2LR
United Kingdom
+44 1273 32 3810
Hidden underneath a large block of flats in Hove, the Bali Brasserie can be difficult to locate. Once inside the building the first port of call is the Bali bar. The decor is quite bizarre as it clearly hasn't altered since the 1970s. The walls are lined with bamboo and plastic flowers and the bar is covered in tiny mirror tiles. Tacky is not the word. You are welcome to stop by for drinks but then you would be missing the food. The restaurant itself is large and more subtle. The staff are dressed in traditional costume to add an authentic feel. Food is exceptionally good and the menu varied.

Circus Circus

Preston Circus Circus
2 Preston Road
Preston Circus
Brighton, East Sussex BN1 4QF
United Kingdom

The Thai Café @ Circus Circus has undergone a dramatic transformation. What once was a dark, airless pub is now a bright, breezy eaterie just across the street from the Duke of York's Cinema. Popular with office workers at lunchtime and early evening; the crowd is mixed later on. An extensive menu, including Thai cuisine is on offer from breakfasts and baguettes to full meals. This is quality cuisine at very reasonable prices. Desserts are home-made and Chunky Paprika Fries are quite wonderful.

Little Buddha

Authentic Thai food
72 Dyke Road
Seven Dials
Brighton, East Sussex BN1 3JD
United Kingdom
+44 1273 73 7878
Little Buddha opened in 1998 and is placed on the Dyke Road, a 10 minute walk from the town centre. The restaurant is small with space for about 30 people seated in plain and simple surroundings. Main meals are very reasonably priced with Thai curries, oyster, cashew, chilli or sweet and sour dishes from £3.95-£5.95. Salads and accompaniments are aplenty and there are also set meals at £5.95 per person for the lunch option or £14.95 for a huge evening meal for two. The latter is a veritable feast and a vegetarian version is available. Alcohol is not served on the premises; corkage charge is £2.

Pond

Thai at the pub
49 Gloucester Road
North Laine
Brighton, East Sussex BN1 4AQ
United Kingdom
+44 1273 62 1400
Since the early nineties, the Pond has been a welcoming and friendly pub. With a huge collection of chamber pots, inherited from the Green Dragon Pub (now The Office), comfy seats, dark wooden floors and furnishings, it's cosy and original with a fine music selection on the juke box. Drinks-wise try Hoegaarden Belgian beer, Caffreys, Harveys bitters, Fullers London Pride, lagers and bottled drinks.

Thai Spice

Tantalising Thai treats
13 Boyces Street
Brighton, East Sussex BN1 1AN
United Kingdom
+44 1273 32 5195
Thai Spice serves authentic fare at reasonable prices. Recently under new management the small, dark and homely restaurant is a perfect place for a cosy night out or relaxing afternoon meal. An express lunch includes dine on choices such as Stir Fry Cashew Nuts (chicken, pork or veggies and bean curd). A two course lunch is extremely reasonable and also filling.
