5-8 London Road
Brighton, East Sussex BN1 4JA
United Kingdom

As the name suggests they sell mainly frozen food, including ready meals, meat, fish, vegetables, pizzas, pies, gateaux and ice-cream. They also sell bread, biscuits, sauces, spreads, soft and alcoholic drinks, baby food and washing powder. They stock well-known brands along with their own good value lines. The aisles are wider than the average supermarket. They also have a shopping catalogue so that you can phone in your order, or make it through their website, and offer free home delivery if you spend over £25. In addition to this they have loads of "Buy one, get one free" offers and have banned all GM Foods, artificial colours and flavours from their products. Iceland also plan to use only organic vegetables in their frozen ranges. Another branch in Blatchington Road, Hove.

All citizens of the European Union plus Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein are entitled to free medical assistance and consultations in Britain. Like British citizens they must pay the £6.00 fee for any drug prescriptions. Some other countries, including Australia, New Zealand, eastern Europe and Russia have reciprocal health agreements with the UK. These vary from free entitlement to a proportion of the costs being waived. Only urgently needed treatment is covered. Visitors from most countries, including the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Mexico and all African, South American, Middle Eastern and Asian countries will be liable for full medical costs unless covered by insurance. This does not, however, apply to treatment at accident and emergency departments which is free for everyone. Accident and Emergency facilities are also available.
