Located on the picturesque North Stradbroke Island, Dunwich cemetery is a historic look back at Queensland past. The cemetery is Queensland's second oldest with graves dating back to the 1850s. There are more than 10,000 graves, each no doubt with a story to tell. The highlights of Dunwich cemetery include the 26 crosses marked for the 26 pioneer immigrants who succumbed to typhus fever.
