For beaches in Brisbane you must drive an hour away, north or south. Go north to Flinders Parade, Sandgate and breathe the sea air as you stroll the seashore into Upper Esplanade, Moora Park and around the peninsula. One of the fish and chip shops might be a tempting stop! There are many old buildings to see in this area. Why not do the Sandgate Heritage trail, which takes you on a longer walk through the Sandgate streets.
