Buy shoes while playing |
144 Rue de l'Eglise Brussels 1150 Belgium +32 (0)2 779 0517 |
Alexandra Junior is a beautiful, thriving shoestore for little ones. It is so busy, that you have to take a number and wait your turn. In the meantime, kids can play. There is a TV with cartoons, they can draw and, instead of couches, there is a kind of tribune where children are fitted for shoes. Alexandra Junior regularly organises a drawing contest, after which the drawings are hung on the shop's walls. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Beauty and the beast |
73 rue Antoine Dansaert Brussels 1000 Belgium +32 (0)2 513 8940 (Informatie voor toeristen) |
La Belle et la Bête is located on the corner of the Rue du Vieux Marché au Grainsnand and the Rue A. Dansaert. This is a shop for the modern woman who wants to feel good in her clothes. The shop's own design of clothing is sold here with matching shoes and handbags. There is not only exclusive evening wear, but also stylish leisure wear. There are, for example, designer mules to wear at the beach. One thing though, it is rather expensive. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Rue du Bailli 86 Brussels 1050 Belgium +32 (0)2 538 38 48 (Informatie voor toeristen) |
Dod is a highly recommended shop. You can buy new clothes and shoes at giveaway prices here. Everything is either seconds or a leftover from last year's collections. They even have brand clothes, but of course not at the normal price. Shoes, coats, trousers, shirts, T-shirts, look around and enjoy the prices. On Saturdays it is usually very crowded here; should you like to look around at ease, come during the week. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Zegna may not be as popular as Armani, but the truly hip man will be familiar with this brand. Find classic cuts and designs, such as knitted black three quarter length coats, simple but sophisticated suits, and plain, woollen jumpers. Comfort is another of Zegna's priorities, with an emphasis on soft, wearable fabrics like cashmere, silk and mohair. They also stock an up market range of shirts, ties and accessories. Definitely for the discerning gentleman! Review © 2007, Wcities |

63-64 Boulevard de Waterloo Brussels 1000 Belgium +32 (0)2 511 8559 http://www.versace.com/ |
Gianni Versace was a very famous designer who was shot in front of his own house. There is a large shop on the Boulevard de Waterloo where the Versace line is sold, now designed by his sister Donatella. Only the expensive designs are sold here. It is no use looking around for cheaper designs such as Versace jeans. Versace is better known on the catwalk in Milan or Paris, since it is not everyday clothing. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fairy-like designs |
4 Galerie du Roi 4 Brussels 1000 Belgium +32 (0)2 514 0763 http://www.kaattilley.com |
Kaat Tilley studied painting and fashion design before presenting her first collection in 1985. Escape, the daywear line that still exists, was next in 1991. In 1992, Tilley received a lot of media coverage on her design of the stagewear for Belgian group Zap Mama and the Portuguese Madredeus. Fairy-like designs and delicate silhouettes, which have become Kaat Tilley's trade mark, are especially present in Inner her prêt-à-porter, bridal and eveningwear line. Next to that, Earthings is a collection of knitwear and Frederiek consists of her own collection for kids. Kaat Tilley is one of contemporary Belgian fashion's household names and she runs boutiques worldwide. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Maison Natan was founded in 1930, and the business was taken over by designer Edouard Vermeulen in 1983. Since then, business is booming. Natan now runs seven stores, some of which are in Germany, and two of which are in Brussels. This one, an imposing mansion where the brand was founded, is truly magnificent. Natan's wares are definitely beautiful, and if you love traditional fashion, this is an address to remember. Review © 2007, Wcities |
