This 50-year-old airport is located 10 miles (16 km) southeast of the centre of Budapest. Set over three levels, it's well established airport with good amenities, including banking facilities, bureau de change, duty free shops and great transport links into the city. Budapest Ferihegy Airport has three short-term car parks at the basement level of arrivals and departures as well as a long-term car park with security surveillance. Avoid drivers touting for business inside the terminal, use the taxi rank outside the terminal instead. If the car is metered, make sure it's on, otherwise agree the fare before leaving the rank. Otherwise, follow the shuttle bus signs for the excellent Airport Coach service that will take you to almost any destination in the centre of the city. Tickets can be purchased on the coach. Alternatively, the red and black number 93 bus goes to the metro station which also goes into the city centre. If you want to hire a car instead, Avis, Budget, EuroDollar, Isa Rent-a-Car and Hertz have counters at the airport. If you need something to do while waiting for your flight, the airport runs a 90-minute bus tour that will give you an insight into the operation of the 50-year-old airport. Or you can visit the open-air museum where several non-operational aircraft types are on display. The are also a couple of business lounges and the airport has a chapel for passenger use.
