Local pizza joint |
1545 Hertel Avenue (At Parkside Avenue) Buffalo, NY 14216 United States +1 716 836 5411 http://www.bobandjohns.com/ |
The decor is not exactly upscale and the dress code is very informal, but the food in this North Buffalo restaurant is outstanding. Basically, it's a pizzeria with pasta (all you can eat for USD1.99 on Monday and Tuesday nights), wings, subs and other munchies that will force you to loosen your belt a notch or two. It is an affordable blue-jeans joint—no pretensions—a great place to bring the kids. Nearby attractions include Delaware Park, the Buffalo Zoological Gardens and the Anderson Gallery. Trendy & Eclectic |
62 Allen Street (at Franklin Street) Buffalo, NY 14202 United States +1 716 883 4166 http://fiddleheads.us/ |
It didn't take long after opening in 1995 for this Allentown restaurant to become a fine-dining mainstay. Run by husband and wife Robert Curreri and Paula Danilowicz, he in the dining room and she in the kitchen, the place has earned a four-star rating from Buffalo News, as well as raves from all who have eaten there. One of the secrets is the ever-changing menu, making it possible to eat there many times without savoring the same dish. Another is the care taken with the ingredients. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Trendy West Side bistro |
511 Rhode Island Street (Off Richmond Avenue) Buffalo, NY 14213 United States +1 716 882 3509 http://www.leftbankrestaurant.... |
First things first, this West Side restaurant doesn't overlook the Seine River—it is not even near water. Nonetheless, this American bistro is quickly becoming one of Buffalo's most popular restaurants thanks to brisk word-of-mouth advertising from happy customers. It is dimly lit, a small candle and bud vase with a fresh flower adorning each table. Bold fabric drapes the windows and the walls are cloaked in artwork. Sample entrees include carrot fettuccine tossed with shrimp, crabmeat and vegetables; and 14oz pork loin, covered with a bacon balsamic sauce. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Dive Into Good Food |
33 Virginia Place (Between Virginia and Allen Streets) Buffalo, NY 14202 United States +1 716 882 2989 |
This is one place you should not judge by its cover. Located in Buffalo's historic Allentown district, the restaurant looks like a dive. However, it has one of the best inexpensive wine lists in the city, not to mention excellent food and service. Under the direction of chef Matt Conroy, the menu is inventive featuring dishes like acampi fritters with Chipotle Sauce, and steamed mussels in scotch bonnet pepper broth. As a bonus, the restaurant is open until 3a daily—and there's an outdoor patio for warm summer evenings. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Elegant food, elegant decor |
2095 Delaware Avenue (At Delham Avenue) Buffalo, NY 14216 United States +1 716 877 9662 http://www.oliverscuisine.com/... |
Some of the best in contemporary American cuisine is served here by chef Christopher Daigler, including Olive Oil Poached Long Island Duck Breast, and Porcini Dusted Sea Bass. One of the oldest fine dining spots in Buffalo, this restaurant located north of Delaware Park is still a favorite for those looking for elegance and excellent food. There's a formal air to the place, perhaps due to the dress code. But the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. A good place for a special anniversary or to close that important deal.
