This ultimate adventure company specializes in tandem skydiving, clients are firmly attached to staff members. The Tandem Master takes care of pulling the ripcord to allow clients to focus on screaming, praying, and otherwise "enjoying" the plummet. If simply hurtling to the ground at 200 km/hour isn't exciting enough, your master can add a few high-speed turns to further test your mettle. The Ranch also has jumping cameramen to provide video evidence for those back home. Group rates are available.

Originally conceived in February 1989 as relief to the year-long hangover Calgarians were suffering after hosting the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, this 11-day festival has grown into one of Calgary's favourite events. This celebration of everything snowy, frosty and cold, includes ice sculpture contests, human curling championships, music, clowns, winter crafts, snowboarding demonstrations and more. Most events are free and take place in various venues throughout the city. And in spite of the theme of the festival, many are held indoors or in heated tents. It is February, after all.

If you haven't felt a good adrenaline rush in a while, this thrilling, eighty-second bobsled ride down a track used in the 1988 Olympic Games is well worth the CAD45 price tag. Using a specially built bobsled that requires neither steering nor brakes, sledders rocket down the ice-covered track at speeds in excess of 90 kilometers per hour. It's all perfectly safe, but is sure to get your blood pumping again. For most, the first ride is enough, but if you're ready for more, the staff will help you gear up for a second run.
