Sardonic local pop singer-made-good Jann Arden teamed with her brother to open this contemporary take on a classic 50s diner, offering the sort of comfort food Mom used to make. There are moderately priced plates of meat loaf, cheese dogs, liver and onions, baked macaroni and cheese specials, and gravy-slathered hot turkey sandwiches. Visitors can grab one of the private booths or sit at the counter. A steady flow of hip young customers wander in off 17th Avenue Southwest, and on many nights there may be a wait for a seat.
