One of two Ethiopian restaurants in Calgary, the Blue Nile serves up traditional Ethiopian dishes, such as chicken doro w'et and lamb gored gored, for the adventurous diner. The chefs employ such exotic spices as false cardamom and bishop's weed in their tasty and generous stews, and each meal is accompanied by a large woven basket of soft ingerra bread. The decor is simple: photos and Ethiopian fabrics, and the bar fridge is tiny, but the attraction here is definitely the delicious cuisine. Review © 2009, Wcities |
