The city's northeast is blessed with specialty groceries from the Middle East, and friendly Hages is one of the best. This store is tiny but it boasts a wide selection of such Arabic delicacies as pickled lemons, rose blossom water, zatar spice, cardamom coffee and several shelves of canned meats and vegetables. One wall is devoted to bulk spices, grains and nuts and their cooler features a large variety of olives and cheeses. The meat counter in the back offers fresh halal meats. Prices are staggering low.
