It's hard to decide whether or not Quizno's is more than a chain fast food joint but actually a gourmand's treasure. The food is definitely fast, but the baked Italian sub sandwiches are of a quality to delight even the most discerning of diners. Thick, Italian-style loaves are sliced in half and layered with a choice of meats, cheeses and sauces before being oven baked. They are then stuffed with cold vegetables and served hot with pickled peppers on the side. The spicy fillings lend these subs a zest that lingers well after the meal is done.
